This area has more different homes than a monopoly board. Each home is designed specifically for a housing sector and will be a design to suite all needs.

Two houses, a single storey property and a two storey home called ‘Cube Living’ cover affordable, yet high tech living for the first time buyer. A three bedroom executive home features open plan living and a traditional town house provides accommodation for a family of four.

The fifth property looks at how you can update an existing home and reduce your running costs, and of course all have stunning interiors designed to give you plenty of decorating ideas and inspiration.

Anglian Home Improvements Showcases the Conservatory Verandah concept – The British Summer Saviour!

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Summer is coming and the Blog team are very excited about dusting off the shorts and getting in the garden for a BBQ or two. We do have a concern though due to the unpredictable nature of the british weather and how the occasional rain shower can dampen the summer BBQ. The tech guys at Anglian have solved the Blog Team woes and this year will be showcasing a new product concept at the Ideal Home Show. The ‘conservatory vernadah’ combines the look and feel of a conservatory, with an innovative elongated roof structure to provide a sheltered area, perfect for BBQs and sheltering from the summer rain.

Back to the Future: Getting Real with Effective Home Improvements at ‘Anglian Square’

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

At this years Ideal Home Show we have created an ‘Anglian Square’:- it’s our own version of Albert Square! This section of the Show looks at real peoples real homes, and inspires home-owners into making achievable improvements to their home.

The Ideal Home Show is recognised for its forward thinking and innovative showcasing, but this year we have purposefully moved away from the futuristic into the factual!

‘Anglian Square’ has eight different house frontages representing period and contemporary styles found across the UK. Homeowners select the appropriate frontage which best resembles their house and discover various options available to them in terms of realistic home improvements.

These improvements would include replacing your old windows with some Anglian energy efficient double glazing:

Double glazing windows - more efficient

Martin Troughton, Marketing Director at Anglian Home Improvements said, “The Village combined with ‘Anglian Square’ gives homeowners the full inside – out treatment for their homes and demonstrates the impact installing energy efficient products can make.”

To see Anglian Home Improvements 3D make-over, and to discover more about how simple home improvements can make a difference to the energy efficiency of the home at ‘Anglian Square’, visit the Ideal Home Show Village at this year’s Ideal Home Show at Earls Court from 20th March -  5th April 2010.

Now you see it – Now you Don’t! Anglian’s 3D Make-Over Warns Homeowners of the Invisible Energy Loss in our Homes

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Press Release

Anglian Home Improvements, the UK’s leading home improvements specialist, has dramatically transformed a semi-detached property in a 3D make-over, which will visibly show energy loss in an average UK home – The first demonstration of its kind at the Ideal Home Show 2010.

Similar properties to those housed in the Ideal Home Show Village sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements, have been photographed by a thermal imaging camera to show the extent of energy lost in a typical home.

One side of the semi-detached house is functional and well loved, containing 80’s furniture and décor together with 80’s windows and doors. The other half of the property is fitted with a range of Anglian Home Improvement products to create a direct comparison and to show the huge steps in energy efficient designs over the last two decades.

The modernised property is also furnished with the Ann Broad fabric range and Timberland flooring to create a striking difference and to demonstrate how homeowners can cut heating bills, reduce maintenance and improve their standard of living in an achievable cost effective way.

The Ideal Home Show is recognised for its forward thinking and innovative showcasing, but this year Anglian Home Improvements have purposefully moved away from the futuristic into the factual! It is a fact that the average UK household loses around £280 worth of energy a year – every year. Much of this energy is wasted through poorly insulated windows which not only leak heat, but also money, which is bad for the consumer pocket as well as the UK’s carbon footprint.

Consumers visiting the Ideal Home Show Village will see first hand the thermal properties of Anglian’s windows and the range of energy saving products that make a tangible difference to the energy efficiency of the home.

These pictures show the same property before (left) with single glazing, and after (right) with Anglian energy saving double glazing windows. This forms part of the display at the Ideal Home Show Village.
