Four new apprentices have embarked on a two-year apprenticeship in Fenestration/Window Installation with Anglian Building Products. This is part of Anglian’s commitment to deliver apprenticeships on all long-term public-sector refurbishment projects.

Every year Anglian award their staff for their long service and work they have completed for the company with a plaque highlighting their achievement. This year saw thirty five members of staff being awarded which means they have together clocked up a massive 1050 years of experience!

Recently the United Kingdom has seen a dramatic increase in unemployment across all industries. The latest figures show a staggering 2.38 million people without work which is a ten year high. With the country in recession opportunities for employment is limited, especially for graduates who have been particularly affected. 

The TUC General Secretary Brendan Barbara said recently “It’s particularly worrying that over half a million unemployed people have been out of work for at least a year, including 133,000 young people.” Source BBC
