Garden Games for Kids

It’s nearly the end of Summer Holidays and you spent most of the bank holiday running around trying to get the children’s back to school clothes and equipment as that pair of trousers that you bought little Jimmy at the start of the summer holidays, no longer fit him. Disaster.

To make things worse, the kids are now moaning about how bored they are with nothing to do as you’ve practically done everything you can think of to keep them entertained till they have to go back to school.

So we’d thought we’d help with a few ideas to get them out of the house and into the garden :) . Across most areas of the UK, the weather is supposed to be rather good this week until Saturday at least. So here are a few ideas to keep your children in the fresh air for as long as possible!

Garden GamesGiant Jenga, Connect 4, Giant Snakes & Ladders, Twister etc. Here are just a few to mention that are some of the nation’s much loved indoor games but there are many stockists out there who supply bigger versions of these so you can play them outside in the garden (and also to stop anything valuable in the house from getting broken.)

  1. GardenGames.co.uk
  2. Nickys-Nursery.co.uk They’re doing a special offer at the moment where you can buy Snakes & Ladders and Get Knotted for £59.95 and they also sell kids gym sets so whilst Daddy is on his Cross Trainer, little Jimmy can use his as well!
  3. ActiveToys.co.uk On this particular site, they sell garden Chess and Draughtswhich is ideal for the slightly older kids as it will help to kick start their brain power again before going back to school. They’ll be learning and having fun at the same time.
  4. GardenGamesandLeisure.com has a vast more collection of garden games compared to the other sites that have been mentioned but I shall warn you their prices are little bit more expensive than some others, but are fantastic quality and will last you longer because of their durability.

Argos might be the best bet for a quick turnaround this week so if you’re lucky enough to live close by to Argos , it would most certainly be worth a trip because you can pop in, place your order, wait around for about 10 – 15 mins max, pick up your order and out the door. So the sooner you have it, the sooner the children will stop moaning. Plus they have such a humungous collection of kids’ games with anything from skipping ropes to badminton rackets for £1! A pound I tell you! So with it coming towards the end of summer as well, most of the products will be reduced so now is the best time to grab yourself a bargain!

But just in case your SuperMum and are already one step ahead of the rest and bought these, then why not try to get little Jimmy interested in gardening with Mummy? Again, Argos has a couple of gardening sets for children who are 3 years and up.

Or you can try your local DIY stores or even some of the big companies like B&Q.

If you do have a bit of time left before they go to school then you can get some fantastic little sets online like this Mickey Mouse 4 piece gardening set which has free shipping on Play.com or this Children’s Gardening Set that is free delivery and is also dispatched within 1-2 business days.

There is nothing better than getting your children involved with a bit of gardening as its great fun outdoors, plus you could be sowing the seeds of a green fingered future for your children.

If you have any tips on how to get your children out of the house and into the great outdoors then we would love to hear them. :)
