Raising The Standard Of Our Vans
Anglian Home Improvements are continuing to raise the standards of all areas of the business, including our fleet of vans.
Anglian has replaced 650 of their current vans with new top of the range Euro 5 Mercedes Benz Sprinters. As business levels continue to grow encouragingly, Anglian needed to extend its fleet, resolving this by becoming an all Mercedes-Benz operation.
The vans then have to be “transformed” by the Anglian team, who kit it out with storage for tools and components and even removable frails for transporting glass.
Mick Shepard, Anglian Group Transport Manager said, “Although our vans don’t cover huge mileages we will run these new ones for six years or more so durability is crucial. We know Mercedes-Benz vehicles can stand the test of time; indeed, we have a few Sprinters which are nearly 10 years old and are still going strong.”
Anglian takes environmental issues very seriously and the cars economical advantages also helped it win. The 129hp Sprinter 313CDI is 15% more fuel efficient than the Euro 4, covering an extra 4.5 miles per gallon. Just to confirm it was the most eco-friendly choice, the new model has cut it’s emissions by 13%.
Safety was also key to help decide which van to choose for our fleet, and there was stiff competition as the Anglian procurement team invited several manufacturers to pitch their vehicles. However, the superb safety features of the Mercedes out performed the opposition, and the Adaptive ESP anti-skid system, which adjusts to the changing weight of the van, ensured it was the van for Anglian.
