Glass and Glazing Federation launch windows scrappage petition
The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) have launched a petition for the government to support a Window Scrappage initiative that would help cut C02 emissions, improve homes’ efficiency and cut household bills. This is great news after our previous post to support this type of scheme.
If approved the government would finance £1000 towards the cost of double glazing where a homes’ windows are upgraded to C rated efficiency or above. This would have a massive impact on both the value of the home and peoples’ heating bills. On average it could save £135 per year as energy efficient double glazing creates an insulating barrier that reduces heat loss throughout . The look of the home is also enhanced.
Anglian will be supporting the Glass and Glazing Federation and would urge everyone to add their support to what is a credible and environmentally important petition.
