Anglian Improves By £7m In Profits

We at Anglian are very pleased to announce our turnover has risen fantastically by £900,000 to £210.1 m in the financial year to March.

But with operating profits, excluding exceptional items, rose from £11.5m in 09/10 to £18.5m. We also reduced our bank debt by £6.4m in the previous year which leaves us with net debts at £27,5m

At Anglian, we are pleased with these results as it reflects the successful launch of our new products such as EcoGain windows and Orangeries, and a continuing drive to improve our productions.

Earlier this year we launched a new energy-efficient ‘EcoGain’ range of windows which reduce heat loss from your homes and CO2 emissions which will help you save those pennies in the run-up for Christmas.

We also entered into the green energy market in the end of 2010 with the launch of our solar photovoltaic products for the household. In the past six months we are pleased to see significant sales of the solar product.

Chief Executive Peter Mottershead said “The accounts for 2010/11 show a solid result for the year, these were achieved despite the uncertainty which loomed as a result of the public sector spending cuts.

The impact of these cuts and the rising cost of household bills continue to affect consumer spending and we remain cautious as we trade in 2011/12. We have a strong brand in the marketplace and we continue to invest in new product developments with particular importance on ‘green environmental initiatives.”

Our Finance Director Phil Tweedie said that the number of people employed by Anglian have remained ‘static’ in the last financial year. So with a four year deal in junction with GMB over staff pay have resulted in our staff being offered lump sums on certain months rather than a monthly salary increase.

Thanks to efficient improvements in our manufacturing and paying close attention to our performance throughout the 16 areas of operation in the UK, this has helped to increase our profits.

Mr Tweedie mentioned that “It’s been a good year in the face of a difficult environment and we have continued to invest in our brand thanks to advertising and sponsorship. To improve profits in such a difficult environment is quite an achievement.”
