Charity Football Match In Memory Of Mark Osborne
You may remember reading this blog a couple of years ago, about Mark Osborne who tragically died of prostate cancer. He was a keen sportsman and to help raise money for The Hospice of St Francis and The Prostate Cancer Charity, his friends and family gathered for a charity football match in May 2011.
Anglian Home Improvements sponsored the football match, donating not only £150, but also a signed Norwich City football and Arsenal shirt, which will have been used to raise more funds for the charities.
The whole day was a great success and all of his family and friends have raised in excess of £5000, which has been split between the Hospice of St Francis and The Prostate Cancer Charity. Well done to everyone who helped organise and participated in this event.
With the help of this money the Prostate Cancer Charity are able to reach out to more men with prostate cancer and their families than ever before. They provide essential information and support, and are leading the way in research and campaigning to raise the profile of the disease, which kills 1 man every hour in the UK!
Below is a picture which was sent to us from the friends and family of Mark.
Below is a thank you letter from Mark’s friends and family.
