House Builder Bellway Posts 50% Rise In Profits

Bellway, which is a UK house builder, has reported that due to the market being ‘stabilised’, they have noticed a 50% rise in annual pre-tax profits of £67.2m this year.
Because of tighter cost control, higher sales and better margins, Bellway’s turnover was up by 15% to £886.1m in the year to 31st July.
The number of houses that were being sold had risen by 7% to 4,922, with the average price also rising to £175,613 which was an 8% increase.
To carry on with the great news within the industry, their reservations in the first few weeks, during the beginning of the new financial year were also ahead of the same period last year, by 11%!
By the 30th September, Bellway had an order book of £418.8m, which is a £22.1m rise compared to last time.
Howard Dawe, who is the Chairman for Bellway, said that “against a backdrop of ongoing economic uncertainly, Bellway has performed very well”.
The final dividend for the year increased by 2.1p from 6.7p to 8.8p.
