Anglian upgrades to anti-bump and anti-snap protection
Anglian Home Improvements are committed to not only providing a quality range of Classic, French, Patio and UPVC doors but ensuring the very latest in security technology is within their products. Latest additions include;
- Yale branded cylinder lock
- Anti-bump and anti snap protection
The new security features will increase the protection against a recent criminal action called ’lock bumping’ or ‘lock snapping’ on properties.
Lock bumping and snapping
‘Lock bumping’ or ‘lock snapping’ is growing within modern society and web sites show you how common this problem has become in recent times.
Unlike ‘snapping’ where it is clearly evident how entry has been made, with ‘bumping’ it is not necessarily evident that the cylinder lock has been compromised. Sometimes the burglary is often attributed to an unlocked door. As a result of supposed negligence an insurance company may refuse to settle the claim.
Whilst bumping and snapping are not yet widely known about by the public at large, Anglian Home Improvements as the market leader want to ensure that they supply their customers with a product that incorporates the very latest security improvements. Anglian are fitting an anti-bump and anti-snap cylinder lock / handle combination on our UPVC doors, Classic and Conservatory as standard.

Anglian’s anti-bump upgrade
Anglian will also be fitting a kite marked anti-bump cylinder lock to our PVC-U and Classic doors. The new cylinder locks are manufactured by Yale so in addition to the kite mark they will also be Yale branded.
Yale being the World’s number 1 name in security the addition of the Yale brand and logo will further enhance the quality of this security product.
Anglian’s anti-snap upgrade
Anti-snap protection is provided through the design of the cylinder lock and external lever plate.
The external lever plate will be machined from solid aluminium making it far more difficult to lever off and gain access to the ‘nose’ of the cylinder lock, which in turn has been reduced in length to sit flush with the surface of the lever plate.
Existing Anglian doors
Existing Anglian Doors (applies only single and French Doors installed since 2002) fitted with the old cylinder lock can be upgrade to having the handle and cylinder lock on the doors as an upgrade.
