The National Window Scrappage scheme

Britain’s 26 million homes leak heat through their walls, roof and windows – no wonder the average household energy bill is so astronomical. Our homes are also responsible for around 27% of the country’s man-made C02, which is in no-one’s best interests. That’s why we at Anglian are on a mission to raise the standard of energy efficiency in every home. The National Window Scrappage Scheme is just one of the initiatives we have introduced to make it easier for homeowners like you to ‘green’ your home. As part of our ongoing commitment to cut emissions and energy bills, we fully endorse the petition for a Government endorsed Window Scrappage Scheme. We believe this will help put the most thermally efficient windows within reach of householders and landlords up and down the country.

I think that this is a great idea. could someone tell me if it would be possible for me to join this scheme. I have 10 windows that require changing – how much would it cost me.

Your TV advertising campaign is clearly intended to imply that the “National Window Scrappage Scheme” is a Government funded initiative. My understanding is that this is not the case, and the so-called “scheme” is merely a creation of your company’s marketing department. Do you not think this is, at best, misleading?

  3. Hi Stu

    Thanks for your post.

We have not tried to be misleading with our promotion and we do apologise that you feel this way. We are urging the government to consider a windows scrappage scheme for the better of the industry and the environment. In the meantime, whilst this is being weighed up by the government, we are offering our customers the ability to benefit from this type of scheme by offering one ourselves; we will scrap and recycle your old windows in return for up to £2000 off new ones.

    Thanks
