Crematorium Reaps Benefits of Solar
A former airfield in Aberdeenshire is set to be converted into a crematorium, powered by solar panels!
There’s planned to be enough panels to power the furnaces, as well as the electricity and heating for the chapel, which accomodates 300 mourners.
Due to a lack of facilities in the area people had been denied their funeral wishes, across the UK 70% of the population are cremated with only 30% being buried.
David Gauld the Edinburgh based architect behind this venture has revealed his plans to install 350 solar panels in a bid to increase its energy efficiency and grant the population’s funeral wishes.
The Scottish government recently announced how it will invest £1 million into making Aberdeenshire more green!
