120 New Jobs at Wilkinson’s In Norwich

According to the Evening News, roughly 1,000 people so far have applied for just 120 new jobs, as the national home and garden retailer have announced they are opening a store in Norwich later this year.

Wilkinsons to replace Co-op store

The Forum in Norwich has let Wilkinson’s host a four day recruitment event there which is ending today at 7pm. The new Wilkinson’s store manager, Keith Yandall, has said that there are 8 people applying per job advertised. I had no idea that the amount of people without a job in Norwich was that bad!

He also carried on saying “Opening a brand new store in Norwich is an exciting prospect for Wilkinson’s. We have received an overwhelming response to our recruitment drive, with approximately eight people applying for each position, and we have been extremely impressed with the standard of the applicants who have attended so far.

The former Co-op store which is on St Stephens, closed last year after more than 100 years in the city and has now been taken over by Wilkinson’s. The new leaseholder is a family owned business sells more than 25,000 product lines and have been trading for over 80 years.  Wilkinson’s have 354 stores across the UK.

I would just like to say thankyou to Norwich Evening news to allow us to use the photo above, and also to PicDesk. Many thanks.
